The Fuji couch frame evokes Japanese temples and gardens; a bit of samurai as well. It is crafted using sustainably harvested solid rubberwood.
Operating the Fuji is easy since it uses the most trouble-free futon converting system in the business. The operating system allows easy conversion from sofa to bed, and back to sofa, all operated from the front, all in a few quick steps.
The Fuji is built to last. Produced from the finest plantation grown materials and constructed with traditional woodworking good sense, including mortise and tenon glue construction of platform slats into frame. The Fuji frame utilizes nested body packing. Seat and back decks are fully assembled right out of the box.
All futon frames come with a limited 5 year warranty.
Frames are made from Rubberwood (Parawood). Commonly known as the rubber tree or Para rubber tree, it is native to the Amazon Region of South America. Rubberwood produces the latex used in rubber-based products. After the economic life of the rubber tree, which is generally 26-30 years, the latex yields become extremely low and the planters then fell the rubber trees and plant new ones. So, unlike other woods that are cut down for the sole purpose of producing furniture, Rubberwood is used only after it completes its latex-producing cycle and dies. Rubberwood wood is eco-friendly since the wood would otherwise go to waste.
