Pearl Mattress: Natural Cotton

This futon-style mattress is a Cotton Cloud original.  It is an extremely lush handcrafted futon designed to be used as a bed. Our meticulous attention to detail ensures this futon will provide a sleeping surface conducive to deep undisturbed sleep for years to come. This futon is ideally suited to be used every day as as your primary sleeping surface. The additional wool makes sleeping on this futon like sleeping on a cloud.  The Pearl has an estimated lifespan of 5-10 years.

 Because of the risk of mold or mildew, this type of mattress needs a breathable surface to rest on.  A slatted bed frame is ideal.  Solid surfaces or the floor are NOT appropriate places to keep it.  If you need a suggestion for a frame let us know!  We will be happy to help you pick a bed frame to go along with your mattress. Regular flipping and rotating is required for maintenance. This listing is for a mattress only. Does not include a frame or accessories.

This approximately 8" thick futon is made of 4 layers of naturally luxurious cotton batting sandwiched between sheets of solid CertiPUR-US^® Foam produce an ideal balance of support, comfort and resiliency. The core of this futon is a sheet of 2" CertiPUR-US^® solid foam. 2 additional sheets of 1" CertiPUR-US^® solid foam are layered between cotton above and below. A fluffy layer of high quality wool is the final layer, which enhances bodily warmth in winter and coolness in summer. All of the materials are protected by a heavy outer shell that features double-stitched seams. Our futons are tufted in order to keep all of the materials in place.

CertiPUR-US^® foam is a flexible polyurethane foam which has been rigorously tested and certified by an accredited laboratory to meet specific criteria for physical performance, content, indoor emissions and environmental stewardship. CertiPUR-US® approved foams are:

• Low emission (VOCs) for indoor air quality
• Made without prohibited phthalates
• Made without ozone depleters (no CFCs)
• Made without mercury, lead or heavy metals
• Made without formaldehyde
• Made without PBDEs

A note on ordering: unfortunately we cannot stock everything in our catalog, most futons are made to order.  This can take up to 2-3 weeks for your new futon or mattress to become available.  If you need something right away, please call the store and ask us to check inventory before placing your order online.  Otherwise, we will contact you when your order is available for pick up.
